First post (eccentric title, isn’t it ?)

There is always a first time. That’s my first time with a blogging experience.
I’m curious about this way to share information and knowledge.
I was a dba in a lots of very challenging production environments, doing h24 support, tuning, applications engineering.
After some years of different jobs, I’m back on dba topics as a side effects of my new IT Architect role. So I want to test a different way to communicate and practice a bit of english.

Let me start with a notice
I decided to take the OCE Oracle Exadata X3 Administration but I can’t ask for an Exadata to Santa Claus, even if there are some of these engineered machines in my company. Those are production environments and now … I … can’t touch this [MC Hammer].
The only way is to build my Exadata Simulator with 2 virtual machines: 1 for the storage cell node and 1 for the database node,  obviously without infiniband, with just 1 core for each node and a few files simulating disks.

After the test (1Z0-027) the simulator will be destroyed.

Next post will be about my storage cell node virtual machine, already built.

    • Sorry but direct url doesn’t work. You must log on edelivery.oracle.com with a valid account, accept all the conditions, navigate to media pack search, select Oracle database as pack and Linux 64 as platform. You’ll find Oracle exadata storage server. Inside you’ll find all the images for db and cell nodes
